Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the psychometric properties of the Perceived Self - Efficacy Scale specific to academic situations in a sample of 297 university students from different faculties and careers belonging to a Chilean university. To achieve the objective by a psychometric study by confirmatory procedures a confirmatory factorial analysis (CFA) was performed to analyze the unidimensional proposal made with students of secondary education in Chile. The internal consistency of the scale was evaluated using ordinal Alpha. The results obtained with the sample of university students indicate a good internal reliability of the instrument (.87), also the data found support the validity of the proposed model. According to the above, the scale to measure specific perceived self-efficacy in academic situations preliminarily supports its use with other university students in Chilean higher education.
