Abstract

This study analyzes pedagogy undergraduate students’ perceptions and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at a private Chilean university. The level of familiarity, access, and frequency of AI use in academic activities is assessed through a quantitative approach along with associated ethical and privacy concerns. The results show that most students have access to AI tools, although its use is limited. There is a positive correlation between familiarity with AI tools and their use, indicating that students familiar with AI tend to integrate it into their academic activities. Barriers such as lack of specific training and ethical concerns persist, with data privacy being a significant concern for more than half of the respondents. In conclusion, overall perceptions of AI in education are positive, but students emphasize the need for its ethical and responsible use.
