Abstract

The aim of this research to investigate thermophysical properties of alkoxyethanols with alcohols, including densities, speeds of sound, and refractive index of five binary mixtures constituted by 2-ethoxyethanol (2EE) + methanol, or ethanol, or propan-1-ol, or propan-2-ol, or butan-2-ol, that have been measured at the temperatures: (293.15, 303.15, 313.15 and 323.15) K, over the entire composition range and at pressure of p = 0.1 MPa. The Cubic Plus Association equation of state (CPA-EOS) has been used to correlate the measured properties. From the measured data, excess/derived properties: excess molar volume, isentropic compressibility, deviation in isentropic compressibility and deviation in refractive index were calculated and correlated using the Redlich − Kister equation. The results obtained from the work have been discussed in terms of the nature of molecular interactions between the components of the mixture.
