Abstract

The evolution of Alejandro Magnet's international political thought is examined, shifting from an anti-communist and pro-American stance reflected in his international analyses for Mensaje magazine from 1960 to 1962, to an antagonistic perspective towards the United States and alignment with the Dominican «constitutionalist» movement, documented in his reports as Representative of Chile to the OAS during the American intervention in the Dominican Republic in 1965.
