Resumen

This document aims at describing the main characteristics that converge in the success or failure of the teaching-learning process in physical education classes. A list of the identified issues that educators must face when joining the educational institution is drawn up. In particular, those instances where deficiencies in the school organization or lack of preparation by the educator responsible for the classroom management are perceived. Consequently, some measures directed towards carrying out this process are recommended. These measures are based on three main competencies: A) regulation, b) organization, and c) communication. To be more precise, a set of indicators following the quality of the teaching performance are presented. It is emphasized how fundamental communication is in this regard, highlighting feedback—a key factor in the knowledge acquired by students. Accordingly, distinctive features of the instruction time and its achievement levels are addressed. Furthermore, some aspects related to the professional longevity in physical education teachers are pointed out. Lastly, assessment’s role in learning and its effect on the process quality is described.
